Topologically Structured Waves and Manipulation of Particles

on 11-03-2025

... Instituto de Telecomunicações will host the talk "Topologically Structured Waves and Manipulation of Particles" by the speaker Konstantion Y. Bliokh, from DIPC, Spain, on March 11th, at 3:15 p.m., Lisboa, Torre Norte (11.26 room), Instituto Superior Técnico.

Professor Konstantion Y. Bliokh will present recent theoretical and experimental results on: (i) subwavelength high-intensity vortices around 'holes' or 'islands' in 2D wave systems: from polaritons to ocean waves, (ii) generation of the Bessel-type vortices, displacement-field skyrmions, and polarization Möbius strips in sound and water waves, and (iii) manipulation of floating particles using topologically structured water waves.

This talk is partially supported by the IET, by the Simons Foundation (SFI-MPS-EWP-00008530-10) and by FCT/MECI through national funds and when applicable co-funded EU funds under UID/50008: Instituto de Telecomunicações.

Attendance is free. More Information..
