By social good they refer to a “good” or service that benefits the largest number of people in the largest possible way, be it through private enterprises, government or non-profit institutions. Some classic examples of social goods include healthcare, safety, environment, democracy, and human rights, but also communication, art, entertainment and others.
The popularity of portable computing devices (smartphones, tablets, smart watches, etc.), combined with the emergence of other smart objects with computational, sensing and communication capabilities and the rise of social networks and new human-technology interaction paradigms, is creating unprecedented opportunities for each of us to create something useful.
EAI Goodtechs will therefore cover topics like app concepts and technologies for different mobile platforms, blockchain for social good, communication between mobile devices, content distribution, e-learning solutions, data collection, organization and dissemination methods, etc. You can find the complete list here.
