The Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) recently welcomed the College of Biomedical Engineering from the Ordem dos Engenheiros for an insightful visit. These visits aim to provide members with a firsthand look at cutting-edge developments in the field nationally.

The delegation included members of the national board, such as Ana Freire (President of the College), Carlos Bastos (Member of the Admission and Qualification Board), and Tiago Sousa (Member of the Assembly of Representatives). Additionally, several colleagues from other specialties within the Order of Engineers participated, showing keen interest in the topics covered during the visit.

As one of the newly established college's first initiatives, this event provided an opportunity to introduce IT and showcase its contributions to biomedical engineering. The agenda featured a welcome note, followed by an overview of IT presented by board member Paulo André.

Hugo Plácido da Silva then highlighted IT’s activities in the biomedical field, leading to a laboratory visit. The session concluded with live demonstrations by doctoral students Sofia Monteiro, Mariana Nunes, and Afonso Ferreira, who offered valuable insights into their research work.
