Abstract
The feasibility of repurposing NG-PON2 WM for 50G TWDM PON is evaluated. The limited bandwidth and spectral requirements are analyzed. Simulation and experiments measure optical power penalty, sideband distortion, and BER impact. Results show wide frequency band within WM before 1 dB BER penalty.
