Wherein the electronic pulser-receiver circuit is connected to the data processing unit which is configured to obtain time-domain and frequency-domain parameters from the received backscattered ultrasonic signal in respect of a time-domain region contained between said lens interfaces, apply a pretrained machine-learning classifier to the obtained time-domain and frequency-domain parameters to estimate a phacoemulsification energy for ultrasound cataractous lens fragmentation.
