The present invention is in the area of the identification of obstacles – particularly
objects or living beings – through walls, based on electromagnetic signals, such as
radiofrequency or microwave signals. It consists of an assembly (1) for such purpose
comprising a receiving device with a plurality of antennas (2), configured to, on receipt
of a first signal emitted from a first position and at least a subsequent signal emitted
from another position, detect the power level of such signals as received in each
antenna, resulting in several power level values corresponding to emitted signals and
positions, the assembly (1) being configured to generate a map of obstacles in a
surrounding area of the receiving device based on said power level values and positions.
Such assembly (1) provides reliably generation of a map of obstacles, particularly with
obstacles such as objects or living bodies. A system comprising such assembly (1) and
associated method and uses are also part of the present invention.
