Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of a new extended tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) dithiolene ligand substituted
with alkyl pyridine groups, pyridylethylsulfanyltetrathiafulvalenedithiolene (pesdt2−), as well as the corresponding
gold (III) complex [Au(pesdt)2]− obtained as a tetrabutylammonium salt are described. The oxidation
potential of this complex is rather low and the paramagnetic neutral complex is obtained as an
electrically insulating microcrystalline powder.
