Experimental demonstration of 9 double sideband OFDM-UWB sub-bands transmission along long-reach PONs

The simultaneous distribution of nine double sideband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ultra wideband signals along fiber lengths indicated for long-reach passive optical networks is demonstrated experimentally. This is an efficient solution and an alternative to single sideband and chirped modulators approaches proposed to mitigate the dispersion-induced power fading.
