Abstract
The monlT project provides public information on population exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) from mobile communication systems in Portugal. The monitoring system is based on a network of autonomous remote probing stations, and also on an extensive EMF sounding program, both carried out in public areas across the country. Measured results are automatically uploaded to a Web site for public dissemination (hftp://www.lx.it.pt/monit), which also includes other relevant information about EMF for the general public. This paper describes the project's structure, the automatic monitoring system, the project's activities, and, finally, it presents a brief analysis of the measured results.
