Abstract
A time domain model based on matricial techniques is used to study the large-signal dynamics in an asymmetric three Phase-Shift DFB structure, which has been optimized in a previous work near threshold and been referred as being potentially stable for single longitudinal mode operation in the high power regime. These models, generally designated as dynamic transfer-matrix models, are very flexible and are indispensable for a proper evaluation of the device performance
