Abstract
A few important power saving techniques for the
transmission of Evolved-Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast
Service (E-MBMS) in Long-Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A)
are presented. We consider signal space diversity based on
Complex Rotation Matrices (CRM) known to provide good
performance gains over uncorrelated Rayleigh fading channels.
OFDM/OFDMA signals based on LTE-A parameters are
combined with CRM, spatial multiplexing (MIMO), Turbo or
LDPC codes, fixed relays and MIMO interference coordination
techniques with different adaptive frequency reuse are also
considered to improve the E-MBMS spectral efficiency at the
cell borders and/or to save transmission power from the base
stations and relays.
