Abstract
The random behavior of the state-of-polarization is an important issue in modern highspeed and long-haul optical communication systems. In this work we explore the copropagation of two signals into a high-birefringence fiber, namely the evolution of its relative state-of-polarization (SOP). Both cases of linear and elliptical nput SOPs are analyzed. Different variables such the input olarization angle and the wavelength are considered in order to define the short- and long-distances regimes concerning to the
relative SOP between signals.
