Abstract
A new approach to relativistic optics is proposed. Using the «vacuum form reduction», a technique already developed by the authors in previous publications, several results for complex media and metamaterials are de-rived, thereby shedding light on the everlasting research topic of moving media in classical electrodynamics, in particular, and on relativistic optics, in general. This new approach to relativistic optics in isotropic moving me-dia stems from the application of Clifford (geometric) algebra to Minkowski spacetime, solving problems in a fictitious spacetime with a constitutive relation with the same form as in vacuum – although characterizing a general class of nonreciprocal bianisotropic media.
