Abstract
The paper is a contribution to design alternative structures to the conventional delay lock loop (DLL), aiming to improve the receiver's performance in multipath scenarios, especially in the close-in region. The proposed receiver is based on a bank of correlators, whose outputs feed a nonlinear least-squares minimization algorithm. The selected minimization procedure is the the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm which is tested with C/A, BOC and MBOC signals. Simulations confirm that the proposed method exceeds the performance of the conventional DLL structures for small excess delays. Besides, the receiver's performance improves when the signal-to-noise ratio increases permitting its application in multipath weak signal scenarios through the use of large integration intervals.
