Abstract
Wyner-Ziv (WZ) video coding is an emerging paradigm which promises to lower the encoding complexity at the cost of addi-tional decoding complexity regarding predictive coding solu-tions. However, the current decoding complexity increase is huge, very likely unacceptable for the relevant applications, asking for solutions which allow reducing this cost without negatively impacting the RD performance and the encoding complexity. This paper proposes hybrid rate control solutions which allow reaching the objectives above for Stanford-like WZ video codecs.
