Abstract
This work investigates the feasibility of a high-density Eddy Current Array (ECA) based on a crossbar addressing architecture for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). While the shared row–column interconnection enables compact and scalable arrays, it inherently introduces sneak paths and networklevel crosstalk. An analytical impedance model is developed to quantify these effects and is evaluated through circuit-level simulations of a resonant array using commercial components. In parallel, finite element simulations assess the suitability of commercial 0402 inductors as sensor elements and analyze the impact of coil orientation and lift-off on defect sensitivity.
