Abstract
In this work, we propose a data-adaptive technique based on the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) that effectively eliminates the skin backscattering from the collected input reflection coefficients. The technique is fast execution and compatible with real-time examinations. Moreover, it deals well with non-uniform (and realistic) breast shapes. Lastly, it is able to detect tumors that are very close to the skin, where other techniques struggle.
