Abstract
We make a short introduction to the topic of quantum key distribution (QKD)
and discuss the advantages of continuous variables (CV) versus discrete variables
(DV). We discuss the necessity for generating the local oscillator (LO)
locally and present an experimental setup for locally generated LO, double
homodyne detection scheme.
