Abstract
We present in this paper a cost-effective, high-gain V-band lens antenna system. The lens is illuminated by a planar antenna integrated on standard FR4 PCB along with a built-in connector using a fin-line microstrip-to-waveguide transition (enabling WR15 waveguide connection). The lens has an elliptical dome-type design destined to be manufactured in ABS plastic using 3D printing. The proposed antenna solution achieves high gain (> 28 dBi) in V band (57-66 GHz) and targets low-cost backhaul links that will be required in 5G small cells.
