Abstract
In this paper, we evaluate the chirp parameter of a continuous wave (CW) tunable laser source combined with a Mach-Zehnder-Modulator (MZM) through the method of dispersion measurement. In order to achieve at least four resonant frequencies we use an 80-km long standard single-mode fiber (SSMF). Results show that the laser under study has a nonzero chirp, which changes with the bias voltage of the MZM.
