Abstract
The rapid growth of wireless data drives the development of new wireless technologies. We can have here in mind the current works on 5G standardization, wireless backhaul development in V/E Band, as well as low orbit mobile satellite service development in Ku band. For all those systems, the availability of high performance and cost effective antenna is key. To address this need, fundamental enablers lie in manufacturing technologies able to handle complex 3D shape while providing at the same time fast and low cost prototyping as well as the ability to support volume production. This talk will try to illustrate how 3D printing and digital manufacturing technologies can help to develop innovative and cost effective antennas in order to address new wireless businesses challenges.
