Abstract
This paper presents the ongoing work to develop a ray tracing simulation platform to be applied in realistic doubly selective radio channels. Such simulation platform intends to characterise the propagation phenomena caused by obstacles present in the radio path using point scatterers. This will allow, not only a reduction of the computational load of simulations as compared to the traditional ray tracing approach, but also the simulation of a large variety of obstacles. Furthermore, the developed simulation platform allows the extraction of parameters such as, the received signal complex envelope, Doppler spread and power delay profile (PDP) of doubly selective radio channels.
