Abstract
The four-wave mixing (FWM) process can be
used as an approximation to a single-photon source. Here,
we present the photon statistics of FWM, and study its
impact on a co-propagating coherent quantum signal. We
found three different statistical regimes, depending on the
average number of photons per pulse, . When 0:1,
FWM source has the same behavior as attenuated laser
sources. A technical version of this work is available in [1].
