Abstract
The assessment of pelvic floor muscles (PFM) strength is a key feature on clinical conservative management of women urinary incontinence. Vaginal palpation is the most used procedure to assess PFM function/strength instead is subjective nature. This study presents an alternative method to assess PFM strength, using a customized perineometer, and a time-based processing of the recorded force/pressure-time curve. Relationship between the perineometer and vaginal palpation assessment was also analyzed.
