Creating and sharing knowledge in communications and information technology

PROJECT / Quest-6G

PROJECT: INTEGRATING QUANTUM AI AND RECONFIGURABLE INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS IN 6G NETWORKS
ACRONYM: Quest-6G
MAIN OBJECTIVE: QUEST-6G aims to design, develop, and validate a multifunctional 6G radio access network framework
that integrates extra-large antenna arrays, reconfigurable intelligent systems, and mid-band (FR3) operation with
hybrid NF/FF beamforming, joint communication–sensing–power transfer, and quantum/AI-native control. By
combining hardware–software co-design with quantum optimization and AI-driven intent-based management,
QUEST-6G will unlock new levels of spectral efficiency, coverage, reliability, and security, delivering futureproof 6G capabilities validated through large-scale experiments and PoC demonstrations. In a pioneering move,
quantum optimization and QML will be exploited to address the combinatorial complexity of RAN resource
allocation, beamforming/beamfocusing, and scheduling, while quantum-inspired computing approaches will
provide real-time, scalable solutions for multi-objective performance trade-offs.
