| Acronym: ZeroWiNet |
| Main Objective: ZeroWiNet aims to apply network coding techniques in the MAC layer of wireless communications. We will explore the new coming IEEE 802.11be, and its new feature Multi-Link Operation (MLO), and adapt its MAC operation to include coded frames in its operation. The presence of NC techniques in the MAC layer will ensure the delivery of each packet in-order, reducing the jitter between packets, and consequently, queue delay waiting for packet ordering. The delivery of all the packets in-order could prevent retransmissions at the transport layer in protocols, such as TCP. Several NC techniques will be explored, and new sending algorithms redesigned, such as the Rateless Random Linear Network Coding (R-RLNC), the Adaptive and Causal RLNC (AC-RLNC), and Blank Space AC-RLNC (BS) to mitigate the triplet trade-off between throughput-delay-spectrum-efficiency in heterogeneous networks. |
