| Acronym: MESMERESING |
| Main Objective: The MESMERISING project aims to develop a state-of-the-art real-time in-situ electronic monitoring system for microplastics by exploring and integrating complementary electromagnetic sensing principles with microfluidic devices, designing optimized readout electronics, and creating advanced signal processing and machine learning algorithms to enable reliable detection and characterization of individual particles. It seeks to correlate signals from multiple EM sensors assisted by flow-rate measurements, address challenges related to particle size, shape, polymer type, and organic interference, and ultimately integrate all components into a compact, low-power autonomous monitoring device demonstrated in a pilot installation. |
