Creating and sharing knowledge for telecommunications

Project: Sondas neuronais fotónicas integradas para computação neuromórfica

Acronym: PHEASANT
Main Objective:
This proposal will use mathematics, physics, and chemistry as tools to explore, understand, and control the design of biocompatible waveguides toward
integrated photonics neuronal probes. In the PHEASANT proposal, we apply those tools to design flexible waveguides based on natural-based materials aiming
for cost reduction, sustainability, and a new generation of biocompatible photonic materials. PHEASANT will be focused on the processing and characterization
of alginate-based in-situ forming hydrogel fibers to create waveguides able to guide light of distinct wavelengths to provide a safe light path for neuronal studies.
