Main Objective: In this project, we will apply the expertise of our group in knowledge discovery and unsupervised learning, together with our background on biomedical instrumentation for the field of healthcare, to assist the project in terms of physiological signal acquisition and processing long-term and ambulatory settings and sensor integration towards usability. Particular relevance will be given to the development of non-intrusive data acquisition methods, of signal processing algorithms towards the extraction of relevant clinical indicators tuned to the requirements and current knowledge of the clinical partners in terms of the electrophysiological expression of emotion and affective states. IT will also contribute to the design and development of novel wearable and off-the-person hardware devices for physiological data acquisition, and to the development feature extraction algorithms for psychophysiological assessment of the user state from multimodal physiological data. |
