Project: Power-Efficient Solutions for Secure wireless Sensor Networks - PES3N

Acronym: PES3N
Main Objective:
In this project we will consider the design and implementation of energy efficient wireless
sensor networks with physical layer security (PLS), based on multi-antenna transmitters
using low-complexity, power-efficient nonlinear amplifiers. The basic approach is
to decompose at each sensor the variable-envelope signals as the sum of several
components with constant or quasi-constant envelope. The transmitter is designed to
have multiple nonlinear (NL) amplifiers, each one associated to one of these signals
components, where the output of each amplifier is sent to a separate antenna and the
signals are combined in the channel, avoiding combination losses. Besides the energy
efficiency assured by this structure due to the use of efficient NL amplifiers, physical
security is also achieved due to the constellation shaping associated with the use of the
antenna array.
