Acronym: SECURIoTESIGN |
Main Objective: The Internet of Things (IoT) is nowadays a key enabler of human progress, though its imaturity in terms of security is recognized by both academia and industry. This project will focus on providing assurance that security is taken into consideration during the design of IoT devices or solutions, that appropriate security technology is integrated during their development and that they are correctly integrated through validation. Applied research in the software and system engineering cycles is the basis for the proposal, with the primary goal of embedding security into the design and development processes, starting from the assumption that the expertise of architects and developers on security may be limited. The main objective of this project is to provide the means to guarantee that devices of the Internet of Things (IoT) are built with security in mind in all development phases, starting from conception up to the testing phase. The project will deliver a comprehensive framework of (prototyped) tools for computer assisted identification of security requirements, attack and system modeling, test specification, mapping of requirements and technology, generation of high quality documentation and auditing. |
