| Main Objective: The ''last frontier'' of the Internet is the wireless interface that provides connectivity to users of mobile or wireless services. Given its limitations on bandwidth and channel characteristics, the wireless interface is seen as the weakest link in the provision of end-to-end Internet services. The main objective of this project is the analytical study of mechanisms to support service differentiation at the wireless interface. Included in the objectives is also the study of the characteristics (in particular, long range dependence) of the offered traffic generated by random access multiple access schemes. |
