About the position • Development of theoretical, numerical and experimental research activities in the field of wire metamaterials, with a focus on the investigation of emerging electromagnetic phenomena and the development of strategies for the manipulation and control of electromagnetic waves. These activities include the development of innovative applications, namely in subwavelength imaging and waveguiding, the study of leaky-wave radiative modes, and wireless power transfer; • Dissemination of research results through publication in international peer-reviewed journals and presentation at conferences, as well as participation in scientific outreach and knowledge transfer activities; • Support in the supervision of research activities, namely of MSc and PhD students within the Antennas and Propagation Group of Instituto de Telecomunicações (Coimbra branch). |

Your required profile The candidate must demonstrate a strong background in applied electromagnetics or related fields, with particular expertise in the analysis and control of electromagnetic wave propagation in complex media. The candidate should demonstrate experience in the theoretical and numerical modelling of electromagnetic structures and systems. Experience in areas such as metamaterials, antennas, microwave systems, or wireless power transfer will be considered an asset. Experience in the development, experimental characterization, and validation of electromagnetic solutions, including prototyping and measurement techniques, will also be valued. The candidate must demonstrate a solid track record of scientific production, evidenced by publications in international peer-reviewed journals and participation in relevant conferences, as well as involvement in research projects in the fields of applied electromagnetics, microwave systems, antennas, or wireless power transfer. Your current track record of scientific publications, and or project involvement, and student supervision complies with the Productivity Criteria in force at Instituto de Telecomunicações, verifiable from your provided CV. |
