| Admission Requirements: Enrollment on a integrated master degree in electrical and computer engineering. Self-motivation for scientific research; ability for teamwork. Good knowledge of English language. Portuguese oral and writing skills will be considered as an added value. Good programming skills (C, C++ or Matlab). |
| Work Objectives: To improve system availability, where more users can access 360º videos simultaneously, and also to enhance fairness, with an increased QoE for all the users. Another goal is to consider coexistence of other services in the optimization process, including the ones that also have latency constraints and compete in terms of prioritization with the 360º video delivery (e.g., VoIP and video conferencing), in order to maintain its target quality in a multiuser scenario. Moreover, the optimization process aims also at devising appropriate solutions for the network architecture, namely in terms of number and location of MEC units. |

| Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at Lisbon, under the supervision of doctor Maria Paula Queluz |
| Duration: 3 months, with the possibility of renewal for an additional period of six month Start date: 01-05-2021 (or soon thereafter). |
| Monthly salary: 446.12€ (net), according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The payment will be made by bank transfer. |
Selection criteria:
Each criteria, and the final classification F will be evaluated in a scale (0-20). The candidates will be ordered according to: F = C1 x 35% + C2 x 35% + C3 x 30% In case of a tie, the tied candidates will be ordered according to C1, then C2... The Jury has the right to not admit any of the candidates that applied for this position whenever they consider that no candidate meets the minimum requirements for the position. |

| Communication of the results: DEADLINES AND PROCEDURES FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING, CLAIMS AND APPEALS Once the provisional ranked list of the evaluation results has been communicated, applicants have 10 business days to, if they wish, dispute the decision during the preliminary hearing phase, according to Articles no. 121 and the following of the Administrative Procedure Code (CPA). The final decision will be disclosed after the analysis of the applicants’ arguments presented in the preliminary hearing. The final decision can be claimed within 15 business days or, alternatively, appealed within 30 business days, after the communication of the results, respectively. Applicants who choose to submit a claim should present their arguments to the member of the FCT Board of the Directors with the delegated competence. Applicants who prefer to submit an appeal should present their arguments to the FCT Board of Directors. Results will be published at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, at Lisbon.
