| Admission Requirements: The candidate must have at least a BSc degree (“Licenciatura”) in Information Science and Technology, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. The candidate must be enrolled in a PhD programme in Information Science and Technology, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. The candidate should also have: expertise in light field processing and machine learning; experience in C/C++/Matlab/Python programming; self-motivation for scientific research; ability for teamwork; fluency in English with good skills in technical writing and presenting. |
| Work Objectives: Development of efficient processing tools for light field image and video, namely by exploiting machine learning techniques. Examples of important light field processing tasks to be considered are: depth estimation, segmentation and inpainting. |
| Applicable legislation: A fellowship will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT, “Regulation of Instituto de Telecomunicações’ fellowships” and ” Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação”, according to Law no. 40/2004, dated August 18 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow), in its actual redaction, and also by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. | Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), under the supervision of Professors Luís Ducla Soares and Paulo Nunes. |
| Duration: 12 months, eventually renewed in accordance FCT scholarship regulations. Start date: 01-04-2021 (or soon thereafter). |
| Monthly salary: 1.074.64€(net), according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The payment will be made by bank transfer. |
Selection criteria:
Each criteria, and the final classification F will be evaluated in a scale (0-20). The candidates will be ordered according to: F = C1 x 40% + C2 x 50% + C3 x 10% In case of a tie, the tied candidates will be ordered according to C1, then C2... The Jury has the right to not admit any of the candidates that applied for this position whenever they consider that no candidate meets the minimum requirements for the position. |
