Summary:
A research position for 1 (one) Research Grant ("Bolsas de Investigação") is open at Instituto de Telecomunicações, funded by the Space Surveillance & Tracking (SST) program, Horizon 2020 Grant nº 2_3SST2018-20, European Commission. The work plan consists on the development and research of signal processing algorithms for a space radar prototypes and radio astronomy.

Admission Requirements:
M.Sc. (Mestre) degree in Electronics and Telecommunications (or equivalent) with experience in the digital signal processing for pattern recognition. Experience in development of algorithms in Matlab, C++ and Python. Motivation to work hard in the topic. The candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program.
Work Objectives:
Extensive digital processing signal programming for pattern recognition applied to space radar and radio astronomy systems. R&D for recent and new algorithms for pattern recognition. Test space radar hardware and perform data reduction using digital signal processing tools. R&D of novel super-resolution techniques in particular for SST Grant nº 2_3SST2018-20 WP7 tasks.
Applicable legislation:
A fellowship will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT, “Regulation of Instituto de Telecomunicações’ fellowships” and ” Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação”, according to Law no. 40/2004, dated August 18 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow), in its actual redaction, and also by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. Place of work:
The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Dr. Domingos Barbosa.
Duration:
12 months with the possibility of renewal. Start date: October 2020 (or soon thereafter).
Monthly salary:
1064.00€ according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The payment will be made by bank transfer.

    Suitability of the candidates’ profile to the project based on the relevant work experience in the tasks described in the work plan

Each criteria, and the final classification F will be evaluated in a scale (0-20). The candidates will be ordered according to:
F = C1 x 50% + C2 x 50%
In case of a tie, the tied candidates will be ordered according to C1, then C2...
