Instituto de Telecomunicações- Polo de Aveiro intends to open and grant 1 fellowship for a researcher in the scope of the MOORE4MEDICAL project, funded by the European Commission under Grant Agreement 876190 and national funds through FEDER.

Admission Requirements:
Master (mestrado) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent; expertise on security in IoT communication protocols such as ZigBee, Bluetooth Low Energy and NFC, information theory, and digital signal processing; proficiency in the following programming languages: Matlab, Python, C; and self-motivation for scientific research; ability for teamwork. The candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program.
Work Objectives:
Design and implementation of security mechanisms for Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) networks. The proposed mechanisms are to ensure secure communications between resource-constrained devices (e.g., sensors) and between resource-constrained devices and devices with sufficient resource capabilities (e.g., IoT Gateways) within the IoMT network.
Applicable legislation:
A fellowship will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT, “Regulation of Instituto de Telecomunicações’ fellowships” and ” Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação”, according to Law no. 40/2004, dated August 18 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow), in its actual redaction, and also by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. Fellowship Regulation of Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P.
Place of work:
The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Rodriguez.
6 months, with the possibility of renewal. September 2020 or soon thereafter.
Monthly salary:
1064.00€ according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal ( The payment will be made by bank transfer.
