On February 17th, the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) in Lisbon welcomed Her Excellency Zoe Rapti, Deputy Minister for Development of Greece, alongside Her Excellency Ana Paiva, Portugal’s Secretary of State for Science.
During their visit, IT board members Paulo André and Helena Ramos showcased the institution’s expertise by presenting two of its cutting-edge laboratories: the Instrumentation and Measurements Laboratory and the Quantum Laboratory.
The Instrumentation and Measurements Laboratory covers all aspects of Metrology, including the development of measurement methods, sensor and actuator design, device and system integration, as well as hardware and software development for measurement systems, telemetry, and signal processing.
Meanwhile, the Quantum Laboratory (QuLab), established within the Quantum Physics of Information (QPI) group, focuses on quantum information theory and its applications. Research at QuLab explores the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics and quantum information, particularly in areas such as Bell nonlocality, entanglement, and quantum contextuality.
This visit provided a valuable opportunity to highlight IT’s research capabilities and its contributions to the advancement of science and technology.
