As in previous editions, the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) participation in the Ciência Viva no Laboratório initiative continues to shine, offering three engaging internships that underscore the program's success and popularity among students: INBIO (coordinated by Hugo Silva), IEC-5G (coordinated by Fernando Velez), and INTELE (coordinated by António Topa).

IT offered three internships focused on key research areas at this year’s 2024 edition of Ciência Viva no Laboratório. These internships introduced participants to the exciting world of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Students also had the opportunity to assemble basic electronics kits and visit labs, museums, start-ups, and the Covilhã Data Center.

The program reached approximately 30 high school students (from the 9th to the 12th grades) distributed by Instituto Superior Técnico and the University of Beira Interior. Participants praised the experience as a fantastic opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies and gain valuable knowledge, covering topics such as telecommunications, 5G technology, artificial intelligence, and biomedical instruments

The success of this year's program ensures that more exciting opportunities will be available next year.
