Filipe Obrist, José Mendes, Bernardo Pinto, Mariana Perna, and Rafaela Dias, third-year students of Computer Engineering at University of Aveiro (UA), had their project selected for the prestigious Jumpstarter competition. The project was developed under the guidance of our researchers Susana Sargento and Pedro Rito, namely the definition of the concept Digital Twin, and coordinated by Osvaldo Pacheco, Professor at UA.
The Digital Twin platform aims to revolutionize traffic management by creating a virtual replica of the city and its mobility. This sophisticated system enables real-time visualization of data, integrating actual city data with simulated data for comprehensive scenario simulation in both 2D and 3D formats. The platform places particular emphasis on multi-modal transport dynamics, offering innovative solutions for urban mobility challenges.
EIT Jumpstarter, promoted by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, is an extremely selective and competitive 8-month program. Its strategic objective is to foster sustainable impact by enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship in Central-Eastern and Southern European regions.
