We are proud to announce that Nuno Borges Carvalho is the President-elect (2022) of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S).
Nuno Borges Carvalho is currently a Professor and a senior research scientist of Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), Director of Department of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics at the University of Aveiro, and an IEEE fellow, one of the largest and most prestigious electrical and electronics engineering organization worldwide. He is the editor in chief of the Cambridge Wireless Power Transfer Journal, an associate editor of the IEEE Microwave Magazine, and former associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques and IET Microwaves Antennas and Propagation Journal. He is the co-inventor of six patents. His main research interests include software-defined radio front ends, wireless power transmission, nonlinear distortion analysis in microwave/wireless circuits and systems, and measurement of nonlinear phenomena.
The IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society is a transnational society with more than 10,500 members and 190 chapters worldwide. This society promotes the advancement of microwave theory and its applications, including RF, microwave, millimeter wave, and terahertz technologies. For the past 60 years, the MTT-S has worked to enhance the professional standing of its members and improve the quality of life for humanity through the development and application of microwave technology.
