A paper co-authored by IT researchers João Barros and Miguel Rodrigues received the 2011 Joint Paper Award form the IEEE Communications Society and Information Theory Society.

This award is issued annualy to distinguish an outsanding paper in terms of quality, originality, utility, timeliness, and presentation, published in any publication of the two Societies.
