The ceremony took place in Lisbon and highlighted technological solutions capable of improving the quality of life and generating real societal impact. Lampsy Health was awarded in the “Lisbon, South and Islands” category, positioning itself as one of the most promising startups in the Portuguese ecosystem.
The company is a spin-off from Vicente Garção, generated at Instituto de Telecomunicações and Instituto Superior Técnico, during his PhD research. It has developed an innovative medical device capable of detecting epileptic seizures with 99% accuracy. The technology automatically sends emergency alerts, enabling faster and more effective responses in critical situations and significantly improving patient safety.
With this distinction, Lampsy Health receives €6,000 in funding and access to a support program within a leading global innovation ecosystem, including opportunities to collaborate with top international business schools. The startup will also participate in the EmpreendeXXI Investors Day, fostering direct connections with investors and strategic partners.
In addition, the company joins the AlumniXXI community, strengthening networking opportunities and collaboration with other awarded entrepreneurs. At the Iberian level, Lampsy Health will now compete in the “Future Challenges” categories, with the final ceremony scheduled for May 27 in Barcelona.
Created in 2007, the EmpreendeXXI Awards have become one of the leading initiatives supporting technological entrepreneurship in the Iberian Peninsula, promoting startups with strong potential for growth, innovation, and international expansion.
