On November 19 and 20, the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) was invited to participate in the INOVARMY Summit & Expo, a key national event dedicated to innovation and technological advancement in the defense sector.

The summit brought together experts from the Army, academia, and industry, fostering collaboration and highlighting IT position as a strategic partner in research and innovation for defense applications.

Two Pillars of IT Participation were:

1. Panel Intervention – Our President, José Carlos Pedro, participated in the panel “Technology Development Focused on Research and Experimentation”, presenting IT mission, capabilities, and areas of expertise. His intervention reinforced IT role in driving advanced technological research and contributing to cutting-edge developments relevant to defense.

2. Technological Exhibition - IT also participated in the event’s technology exhibition, showcasing activities and competencies aligned with defense needs. The exhibition highlighted IT projects, infrastructures, and experimentation capabilities, demonstrating the institute’s readiness to support innovation and operational challenges in the sector.

This engagement underscores the growing importance of collaboration between the Portuguese Army and the IT. The partnership paves the way for future joint initiatives and capacity building, efforts that are already underway in follow-up activities being operationalized by both entities.
