Marco Gomes has been honored for the fifth consecutive time as an Exemplary Editor of IEEE Communications Letters for Signal Processing I, awarded by the IEEE Communications Society.

IEEE Communications Letters publishes high-quality short papers that are focused on theoretical and experimental advances in the general area of communications. The journal focuses on the physical layer and the link layer of communication systems.

Reflecting on this achievement, Marco Gomes stated:
"Being recognized for the fifth consecutive time as an Exemplary Editor by the IEEE Communications Society is a significant milestone. This distinction underscores a strong commitment to upholding scientific excellence and integrity. It acknowledges the dedication to providing timely, constructive reviews that drive advancements in wireless communication research."

Marco Gomes holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra and is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology. His research focuses on wireless digital communications - including MIMO, massive MIMO, waveform contenders for 5G and beyond, and signal processing for large intelligent surfaces - as well as general signal processing for communications and ultrasound systems, error control coding, physical layer security, and Software-Defined Radio.

He is a member of the IEEE Communications Society and the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society and serves as an editor for multiple prestigious journals, including IEEE Communication Letters, IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, Physical Communication (Elsevier), and the IEEE ComSoc On-Line Content Board.
