Interview EXIGENCE project snapshot ROUTE25 project 2024 Physics Nobel Prize SCLEAD Excellent Student Paper Award Stanford/Elsevier ranking PhDs hosted by IT

This issue 115 features an exclusive interview with Carlos Salema, a distinguished scientist and one of the founding members of the Instituto de Telecomunicações. Throughout his career, Carlos Salema has held numerous prestigious positions, including professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, and has played a pivotal role in developing the "Ciência" program within JNICT/FCT.

This year, 28 IT researchers were named on Stanford/Elsevier's list of the top 2% most-cited scientists worldwide.

Muchao Zhang, one of our PhD students from Instrumentation and Measurements, was honored with the SCLEAD Excellent Student Paper Award for his work on "High-Resolution Imaging of Joints in Composite Materials Using Lamb Waves."

The groundbreaking ROUTE25 project presents an advanced testing platform designed to foster innovative R&D solutions and business services in autonomous, connected, and cooperative mobility.

The EXIGENCE project, led by Daniel Corujo, explores innovative approaches to reducing the energy consumption and carbon footprint of ICT services as we transition into the 6G era.
