A team of students from the Doctoral Program in Electrical Engineering at the University of Aveiro (UA) won the "Outstanding Student Design Demonstrator Award" at the 2024 Wireless Power Transfer Conference and Exhibition (WPTCE) in Kyoto, Japan. The team, Ricardo Pereira, Helena Ribeiro, Paulo Capitão, Henrique Chaves, Ricardo Torres, and Vinícius Oliveira, was coordinated by our researcher Nuno Borges de Carvalho.
The students presented their project, “Wireless Powered Flight,” which aims to supply electrical power to a drone through a wireless system.
“Having a Portuguese team win an award of this type at an international congress, competing with teams from all over the world, is truly a source of pride and attests to the quality of the training we have at UA and the Telecommunications Institute,” states Nuno Borges de Carvalho.
