Susana Sargento, our researcher and professor at the University of Aveiro (UA), is among the top 50 women in the ecosystem of “startups” and venture capital companies, according to the international platform Vestbee.

Co-founder of Veniam, a company in the area of communication networks between vehicles and smart cities, Susana Sargento, has already accumulated a vast CV of distinctions, which includes the exhibition “17 Faces of Action”, the list of 20 women from SPO TEK, or the European Commission's Femina and Women Innovators awards.

Her work speaks for itself, but these distinctions serve to differentiate the resilience and excellence of her journey. To quote her: “the example of this list of 50 women demonstrates that we are taking a big step in this direction, for women to step forward and take risks without fear, something that would have been much more difficult 10 years ago. We haven’t reached the break-even point yet, but we are getting closer.”
