The consortium, led by UNBABEL, includes IT, INESC-ID, IST-ID, and IST, and results from an initiative supported by the PRR in 78 million, which aims to define the working method for the development of responsible artificial intelligence in Portugal. This initiative will involve AI startups, research centers, and industry leaders and proposes to develop 21 AI products, with the aim of generating 250 million euros in exports by 2030. Are expected to be created 215 jobs and 132 academic degrees (Ph.D. and MSc degrees).
The executive committee includes Paulo Dimas, vice president of innovation at Unbabel, André Eiras dos Santos, founder and vice president of strategic business development at Sword Health, André Martins, researcher of the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), and Nuno André, financial director of the center and coordinator of incentives at Unbabel. André Martins, who recently won an ERC consolidator scholarship, will be the leader of the project at IT, respectively with Mário Figueiredo, and Chrysoula Zerva. (see more)
