The 5GAIner laboratory installed at IT, in Aveiro, was presented this week to the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education. (see more)
This Monday, November 9, Minister Manuel Heitor visited the 5GAIner laboratory in Aveiro, where he learned about IT’s ongoing research on 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He also took the opportunity to give tips and exchange ideas with researchers on the future of the project.
The 5GAIner laboratory will be dedicated to exploiting 5G innovations and the potential of AI within telecommunications, in order to empower companies, assist the industry and facilitate the digital transition to fifth-generation cellular networks.
This project represents collective efforts to affirm IT, the University of Aveiro (UA) and the whole region as a global cluster of technological innovation.
During the session, the Minister also learned about the training provided to students from the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications and Computer Science at UA, namely in the field of Space, in areas such as Earth observation, satellites and antennas, cooperation networks established with the Azores, among others.
